Four Pillars of Your PT Business
This episode takes a dive in to four of the most important parts of running, growing and staying ‘on top’ of your Personal Training business.
Inside, I outline how these four key components can help you track and scale your business, whilst allowing yourself more time to do the stuff you’re good at.
You can see a list of the ‘Four Pillars’ from the episode listed below…
Pillar 1: Your Diary
As obvious as it sounds, your Personal Training diary is hugely important to your business. Without it you wouldn’t have a clue what was going on with most of the day-to-day appointments in your business
But here’s the thing, it’s very easy for your diary to take a life of its own.
It can quickly feel like your diary controls you, instead of the other way around.
6am starts, 9pm finishes (day-after-day) can quickly become the norm, and at times, may feel necessary in order to fit in everything you need to do to keep your business running smoothly.
In reality, it doesn’t have to be this way.
It shouldn’t be this way.
In the podcast episode I talk about how to better control your diary and make sure that you specify when you should and shouldn’t be taking care of business related tasks.
Pillar 2: To-Do List
Another obvious, yet under-utilised, aspect of running your PT Business is a simple ‘To-Do’ list.
As you grow your business and get busier with appointments, it’s easy to get lost with all the small tasks you need to perform and have promised you will take care of for your clients.
Instead of letting things get on top of you and expecting yourself to remember everything, get it out of your head and written down.
Use your phone, your laptop, a notebook, or whatever you like – just get that stuff out of your head and listed somewhere you can easily access it at all times.
Then, when the allocated ‘Admin’ slots arrive in your diary, you can sit down and take care of a chunk of small tasks in one go.
Programs, emails, replying to texts, scheduling social posts, client check-ins – all these types of tasks should have an allocated slot assigned to them in your diary to make sure that the ‘To-Do’ gets done!
Pillar 3: Business One-Pager
You can download a blank copy of the Business One-Pager I refer to in the episode using the button below.
Using a document like this gives you a quick snap-shot of your business all in one place.
Pillar 4: 90- Day Planner
This tool is unique to Pro-Fit, created by the owners. It allows our trainers to breakdown their 90-Day goals in to smaller, daily actions.
This planner also includes ‘reflective’ aspects, as well as checking the trainers are aware of their values and are living to those.
If you aren’t part of the Pro-Fit Team, it might be worth setting up some sort of tracking system for yourself where you track the following things…
– 90-Day Goals (or any other ‘big picture’ goals)
– Key daily tasks
– Daily gratitude
– Daily wins
– Client Tasks/To-Do’s
